The Role


We have an immediate opening for a Territory Manager to serve our customers throughout the New England region, from Connecticut to Maine. In this role you’ll be responsible for maintaining existing customer relationships as well as developing new business. This territory offers tremendous individual growth potential for the candidate who possesses strong skills in forging new relationships. 


 


The Requirements


Our ideal candidate will have these attributes:




  • At least 7 years experience in an industrial equipment sales position.


  • An excellent current working knowledge of general construction equipment that perhaps was gained in a retail-selling environment with an equipment distributor or through rental sales.


  • A general understanding of sales in the heavy construction industry would be ideal.


  • You have the ability to meet or exceed goals without ever sacrificing integrity.


  • You are a natural at developing and maintaining honest customer relationships. To be successful at this role, your interest must not lie strictly with making the sale but in real, honest relationship building with your customers.  If we ask them about you, they’ll call you a friend.


  • Excellent prospecting and new business development skills, plus a proven ability to succeed in a competitive environment.


  • You are entrepreneurial by nature and one of your key strengths is your ability to manage your territory as though it is your own business.


  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

 


 


This job will require you to:




  • Travel approximately 3 to 4 nights per month to cover territory.


  • Attend 8 to 10 mandatory auction sales within the region where you’ll meet with your customers and your colleagues a few times a year.


  • Work primarily from a home office and on the road.


  • Live in the New England region.
