The Territory Operations Manager (TOM) serves as the primary point of contact within assigned DMAs and support Franchisees in achieving “A” Operations within their organizations. Must possess demonstrated solid operations experience, excellent influencing skills, strong understanding of the restaurant industry including operations, marketing, finance, franchising, and development and have the ability to communicate effectively with leaders at all levels of the organization.

Note: The preferred location for this candidate would be Portland Oregon, Northern California or Seattle, Washington, but we will also consider anyone located in the following states: Alaska, Idaho or Wyoming. We will consider relocation for a strong candidate.

In restaurants: 80%
  • ­ Consistently execute and role model success routines, including:
  • Completion of Reality Tour forms/Visit Summary using Ten Step Visit Process
  • Review DOH(Department of Health)/PMP (Pest Management Program) reports during every visit and ensure correction of noted issues
  • ­ Build capability around BDPs (Best Demonstrated Practices) and drive their use within Franchisee organizations to improve performance
  • ­ Monitor and respond to Food Safety compliance issues
  • ­ Conduct 3rd & 4th CFF (Cleanliness, Friendliness, Food Quality) Audit follow-ups


Scheduling requirements:
  • ­ Work customer based schedule. Travel requirements 70-80%
  • ­ Maintain rolling 3 month calendar on Outlook, share w/General Manager (GM) and Territory Team


Other responsibilities: 20%
  • ­ Facilitate Stewardship/Business Reviews with Franchisees owning 15 or less restaurants
  • ­ Complete KPI Report each Period and review with GM
  • ­ Facilitate new franchisee training in partnership with Training Team & hold calibration calls
  • ­ Conduct calls with Franchisees to review contract requirements and Asset Upgrading. Comply with asset upgrade notification and enforcement process
  • ­ Attend & update asset status on period call
  • ­ Complete Grow Ready Process 2x per year all Franchisees
  • ­ Attend Quarterly Business Reviews, Brand Vision, AKFCF Convention and Region Association meetings
  • ­ Stay current on TeamKFC & All Marketing Initiatives to drive consistent marketing execution at field level
  • ­ Conduct Blitz visits as required
  • Complete Upgrading Worksheets & Exhibit A Checklists as needed


Communication requirements
  • ­ Attend scheduled Territory calls and 1on1 w/GM
  • ­ Attend period KPI review
  • ­ Contact all franchisees every 60 days
  • ­ Proactive role on preparing & distributing communications to Franchisees


Minimum Requirements


Education : Completion of undergraduate degree. MBA preferred.

Experience (and other qualifications):
  • Excellent restaurant operations skills (7-10 years), Balanced Scorecard and P&L knowledge with t rack record of leadership of franchise and/or equity business.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to partner and influence other departments and Franchisees.
  • Must be a driven, results-oriented leader.
  • Clear communication, organizational skills plus the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload with shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Create team together atmosphere.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote) and attitude to learn web-based applications for knowledge management (SharePoint, TeamKFC, Learning Zone), reporting (OMR, PeopleSoft) and access to information (PeopleSoft)
