Job Summary
Sylvan Learning, an educational services company with a 32 year history as a market leader, is seeking a full time Territory Sales Manager. The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for the development of an assigned geographic territory for K-12 education in supplemental educational services. Territory development includes identifying feasible new business opportunities and team with the center management to successfully expand the business at the local level. The core mission of the Territory Sales Manager is to grow revenue from the assigned territory by exceeding quota targets.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
• Drive aggressive sales for 2012 and beyond
• Act as a client champion
• Actively manage and report on pipeline, status of the business, and forecast revenue
• Meet and/or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual earned revenue goals
• Make outgoing sales calls seeking new clients
• Follow up on leads from the call center, return to active students, tested not yet enrolled students, etc.
• Handle incoming calls and successfully answer questions from clients and prospects
• Build and maintain client relationships through attentive customer service in order to grow the sales in your territory through referrals, etc.
• Participate positively and actively in weekly, monthly and annual sales meetings and company functions as appropriate
• Maintain the assigned close rate after 6 months in territory
Fiscal Responsibility
• Oversees the profit and loss statements for assigned territory
• Oversees operating budget and approves significant expenses
• Oversees accounting records
Minimum Qualifications
• BA or BS degree required, as well as experience being directly responsible for a P&L and managing multiple retail centers, or out side accounts.
• Intelligent Software/Technology sales performer with successful Education or related marketplace experience
• 3+ years experience in a sales role as a front-runner, groundbreaker and overall sales leader a plus; a minimum 2 years of demonstrated sales success with K-12 educational services, business to business, business to education market preferred
• Able to communicate about company vision and solutions as well as match specific client requirements to those visions, delivering on the promise of the vision
• Proven experience developing customer solutions
• Understand how to leverage relationships in support of sales, referrals
• Consultative Solutions-Orientation-Able to craft and communicate a value proposition as products and solutions expand which aligns with strategic initiatives of schools and school districts
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage pipeline to meet both short- and long-term sales goals
• Experience uncovering and evaluating new opportunities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication/persuasive skills
• Excellent presentation skills required with the ability to present product benefits in a clear and enthusiastic manner
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts, analyze/interpret business reports and statistics, and write reports and business correspondence
• Organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and Web based tools
• Experience coaching and working in a team environment
• Ability to manage to change and multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Effective problem solving skills
• Prefer experience in education
