Test Engineer

Position Summary:
To develop and evaluate new processes and improve current process capability, efficiency, and overall productivity in all areas of manufacturing on new and existing products. in support of the Corporate WIN Strategy. Responsible for the programming / troubleshooting of automated test equipment, designing of tools, fixtures, and gauges, and determination of process parameters to achieve desired production goals and quality standards.

Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
Interfaces with Product Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Departments.  Performs and reports on mechanical testing fo new and existing designs.

Essential Functions:
Collaborates with engineers on the requirements for design validation testing, potential design changes, product specifications, serviceability of products and assembly requirements.
 
Set-up, run and inspect engineering design validation tests.

Install, remove and analyze mechanical tests, hydraulics and components.

Prepare professinal engineering Test Reports.

Design of testing systems and fixturing.  Maintain, calibrate and set-up testing equipment.

Maintain records and files to support tests, equipment and instrumentation.

Maintain proper communications, administration, discipline and other day to day procedures.

Develop record and maintain proper work instructions for lab in order to maintain ISO9001 certification.

Must continuously maintain the highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity.

Ability to perform failure analysis hydraulic, mechanical, electro-mechanical and electrical systems.

 



Job Requirements:

- Bachelors degree (BS) in engineering or a related technical discipline

- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through two or more years of related experience in a Hydraulic  Lab testing environment.

- High degree of mechanical aptitude, including plumbing/piping skills.

- Previous experience with testing of hydraulic components beneficial.

- Previous experience with hydraulic testing procedures, equipment and requirements beneficial.

- Proven written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to perform in a team environment.

- Computer skills required include Word, Excel and Visual Basic.
