About the Job
Title: Test Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
***Must have the ability to pass a Public Trust Clearance***
The Test Engineer will work closely with customers and the software development team to develop the unit/system test plans, user acceptance test plans, performs regression testing, and creates test suites and scripts to ensure the integrity of each software release.
-Will be responsible for setting up the processes such as user acceptance testing, required to ensure the overall quality of the products.
Responsibilities:
o Plans, designs, develops, implements, and executes formal test cases and scripts according to a standard development process to verify the integrity of software releases.
o Performs complex functional, application, security, usability, stress, regression and performance tests to validate requirements and specifications.
o Responsible for failure tracking, reporting, reproduction, and analysis.
o Designs and implements manual and/or automated testing where appropriate.
o Performs regression tests for each software release.
o Tracks bugs both in development and in the field.
o Works closely with software engineers to identify, reproduce, and track bugs.
o Performs hands-on, acceptance-level testing.
o Performs Ad hoc testing on an as-needed basis.
o Coordinates User Acceptance testing
Requirements:
o Demonstrated ability of using fundamentals in formal QA methodologies and procedures.
o Experience with client-servers and multi tier web applications.
o Ability to execute complicated tasks with minimal supervision.
o Experience with test tools like WinRunner, Quality Center and manual test tools.
o Experience in functional, integration, regression and performance testing in different stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
o Experience in writing software test plans from requirements and feature specifications
o Demonstrated skills in requirements analysis.
o Demonstrated ability to solve problems.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
Experience
3 years experience in software QA
5 years experience in IT industry
