About the Job

This position will begin on 1st shift with a training program that could last for 1-2 years and then you will be assigned to your regular shift (3rd- 1130p-8a)

What you will do:

This job consists of performing duties to plan, analyze, set up, test, observe, check, record, chart data points, maintain, and operate facilities, data acquisition equipment, personal computers, and equipment on test, of any product or component part of a system being built, developed or purchased.


How you will do it: 


Operations include working from drawings, charts, graphs, test requests, sketches, procedures, specifications, code requirements, laboratory standards, facility manuals (blue books), task lists, verbal, written, or email instructions. Make necessary connections of water, gas, air, oil, refrigerant lines, drives, air ducts, steam, electrical power, brazed joints, test instrumentation. Perform work such as flushing, leak testing, evacuation, charging/transferring refrigerants, aligning drives and rotating parts. Fabricate and assemble non-metallic ducts and test fixtures.


Facility operation includes starting support equipment such as fans, towers, pumps, heaters, valves, controls, recorders, instruments, data acquisition devices, and computers.  Monitor gauges, dials, controls, sensors, instruments, and displays.  Regulate flow rates, temperature controls, pressure controls, humidity controls, motor generator frequency, VSD frequency, motor/component speed/frequency control, computer controls.


Record data at specified intervals—manual or computer/data acquisition. Observe, record, document, and/or report unusual operating conditions encountered. Complete test records, forms, task list, and logs. Calculate, analyze, graph, and email test data. Maintain support equipment, facility log, maintenance task list, and organizational task list. May travel and be away overnight.

What we look for:





Must be able to use precision electrical, measuring, testing instruments, power tools, ladders, brazing equipment, and appropriate material handling equipment.


This position is a two-year Test Operator training program.  Must also complete forklift training, crane training, and Universal Certificate for handling refrigerants.
