TEST SUPPORT ENGINEER

Mark IV IDS Luminator is a Plano, Texas based manufacturing and engineering company with an excellent opportunity for a Test Support Engineer.  Luminator is a manufacturer of illumination, communications, and information display products, including bus and rail destination signage, aircraft lighting, vehicle information systems, and Stationary LED sign systems.

POSITION SUMMARY

Design, development and maintenance of test equipment and leading the test engineering team.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

·    Electrical design, development, and certification of production testing for new or changing products.

·    Design and selection of test software and hardware as required for production testing.

·    Development and documentation of product test strategies and requirements.

·    Development and maintenance of production test specifications.

·    Lead other test engineers

·    Provide scheduling and lead time to related departments for availability of testers

·    Work with Service and repair center for SPS analysis

·    Interface between engineering and production for first line of response for production and sustaining issues.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

·    Test complex electronic / Mechanical products in an Engineering and Production environment.

·    Design and develop test equipment (HW, SW, Jig,)  

·    Extensive experience using C, Lab Windows CVI, Lab View and Assembler.

·    Knowledge on GPIB, RS232, RS485 and Data acquisition systems.

·    Experience with automated test development and circuit test methods.

·    Experience in ESD and EMC testing.  VHDL would be an asset.

·    Able to Set work priorities and design decisions.

·    Able to interface well with other individuals and departments

·    Occasionally willing to work long hours

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

BS in Electrical or Hardware Engineering, and a minimum of 5 years related experience.
