Test & Verification Engineering Manager

JOB SUMMARY

• The Test and Verification Engineering Manager will work with management, project management, engineering, mfg, optical fab, assembly and TVE engineering to develop and execute tool test and installation plans for semi-custom high end (>$1.5mm) capital equipment, to achieve project goals. 
• Act as coach, mentor and leader for the TVE staff, make project assignments, follow up on TVE assigned tasks and assure projects are completed on schedule. 
• Will develop, document and disseminate to the TVE team, engineering standard processes and procedures for Best-In-Class system test and verification practices.
• Coordinate work with Customer Support Manager to support Field Service requirements with existing TVE staff.

• Supports manufacturing, assembly and test, inspects equipment and aids in correcting any discrepancies.
• Generates master assembly and checkout documentation, generates software bug reports and ECO’s to correct design problems.

REQUIREMENTS

• BS in engineering sciences (EE, ME, OE, SW) with 10 years of wide-ranging experience testing and troubleshooting semi-custom high end (>$1.5mm) capital equipment.
• At least 5 years Management experience in Engineering, preferably capital equipment.
• Exceptionally well organized, polished communication skills, ability to manage difficult customers effectively, mature negotiation skills, innovative, high tolerance for ambiguity and ability to deal with stress.
• Excellent problem solving abilities with complex capital equipment, to include: DMAIC, Pareto, KPIV/KPOV analysis, 6Ms, 5Ys, systematic troubleshooting, brainstorming, etc.
• Strong scientific and technical skills, including basic statistics, DOE, etc.
• Candidate should be self motivated, results oriented, sense of urgency, high follow through, ownership of assigned projects, lead by example as required.
• MS Office applications-Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.

• How many years of test and verification engineering experience, # years of management?
• How many years experience in testing semi-custom high end (>$1.5mm) complex capital equipment – as a Testing Engineer (non management)?
