The Angelika Film Center Houston is seeking a General Manager! The GM is responsible for all aspects of an efficient and profitable cinema operation. This position reports to the Division Manager and the VP of Operations. Responsibilities include: · Oversee all facets of cinema operations · Provide superior customer service and outstanding film presentation · Staff and management supervision · Hiring, training and developing staff and management · Developing and maintaining a team oriented environment · Maintain good relationships with vendors · Conduct all theatre ordering · Responsible for weekly invoices, petty cash, and all theatre funds · Maintain a clean and safe environment · All building repairs and maintenance · Primary communicator between the cinema and the home office · Conduct consistent management meetings · Participate in consistent conference calls · Responsible for all daily, weekly and monthly reporting · Responsible for all concession, merchandise and inventory management · Responsible for all staff communication and safety meetings · Ensure profit and productivity goals are met through developing business plans, managing payroll hours, sales and P&L · Approve all schedules, paperwork, reports · Operate and trouble shoot projection equipment · Enforce company policy and procedures Qualifications include: · Strong supervisory skills · Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff · Commitment to superior customer service · Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team · Strong commitment to ensuring that profit and productivity standards are met · Flexibility and problem solving ability · Enthusiasm and strong interpersonal skills · Superior organizational skills · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Ability to handle pressure and work long hours when necessary · Computer skills, including familiarity with spreadsheets and word processing Qualified candidates should possess an entrepreneurial spirit, a knowledge and love of film, and a sincere desire to make a difference. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of four years experience in the retail industry (cinema, hotel, restaurant or retail industry), and previous supervisory experience. College is preferred.
