YELLOWSTONE BOYS & GIRLS RANCH PROGRAM SUMMARY: Our Youth and Family Support Worker program is a one-on-one mentoring service that typically occurs in the community setting, the home, or school. Common interventions include teaching, modeling and implementing self-regulation skills, improving peer relationships, and increasing self-esteem.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in working with SED children/youth and families, completed 2 years of college education in a human service field, or 6-months direct experience in working with youth in any YBGR program .
SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with the families to ensure that the issues of concern are worked on with the youth during YFSW time.
2. Assist / support/ follow the client’s individual treatment plan (ITP) through planned one-on-one interactions with client.
3. Communicate Monthly with the Treatment Manager/Case Manager for consultation regarding the client and
families being served.
4. Complete and turn in contact notes and billing sheets weekly to the Community Division office.
5. Promote gradual emotional growth in the client and family.
6. Assist in the prevention of out-of-home or higher level placements.
7. Serve as a professional member of client’s treatment team by working in cooperation with team members in the on going development and implementation of the client‘s ITP.
8. Assist family to develop and maintain positive structure, supervision and discipline.
9. Assist child in developing social and relationship skills.
10. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
