About the Job

This job is located in New York, on Long Island. I am advertising in your area in order to locate people interested in working and living on Long Island.

International leader in the manufacture of thermal spray powders and equipment, needs a Senior Project Manager, with a strong materials engineering background, to manage coatings application projects. The coatings, made of ceramic/metallic blends, are designed to protect against corrosion, erosion, and high temperature. You will solve technical problems concerning thermal spray coatings using your skills in materials analysis, research, and laboratory evaluation. You will work on thermal spray application development, system acceptance tests, and validation projects.

Working closely with engineers in R&D and production, and with sales, you will lead projects in application development, product support and validation, sales support, and Thermal Spray Systems Acceptance tests. You will insure that projects meet technical requirements, budget, and time schedules. You will define project goals, specify project tasks, develop quotations and schedules, and prepare reports.

To qualify, you should have experience working with thermal spray powder development, materials analysis, and thermal spray application. You will oversee the production of metallurgical coating samples, and evaluate samples and reports for design intent, and to determine if coating specifications are met. You will insure that all internal procedures and safety requirements are followed.

BS degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Ceramics Engineering or similar plus at least three years of experience in the evaluation of thermal spray coatings, and development of thermal spray coatings applications. Hands-on familiarity with thermal spray equipment is a great plus. Candidates with Project Management experience in a related field will be considered.
