Lead Software Tester / Test Manager needed for upcoming support contract. Will be part of a dynamic team providing technical, functional, and project management support. Work tasks include requirements gathering, testing, test plan/script writing, test plan management, issue reporting, resolution tracking, and reporting to senior management.


Position Requirements:

Senior level tester with a minimum of 5-7 years experience in testing complex software applications. Must include requirements gathering, testing, quality assurance, test plan/script writing, test plan management, issue reporting, and resolution tracking.

* Strong Experience with Test Automation and knowing how to automate testing
* Extensive experience with the Rational toolset
* Some experience with formal Project Management
* A current DOD or FBI Top Secret Clearance is REQUIRED


Responsibilities:

* Coordinate resolution of all coding errors derived from the testing scenarios, ensuring minimal retesting of software and providing the customer with a product of the highest quality.
* Manage all testing milestones and plans and ensure the resultant deliverables and overall systems maintains performance levels in accordance with contract metrics.
* Additional tasking may include advance planning of upcoming projects, and additional technical requirements analysis.
* Occasional travel is involved (Quantico and/or West Virginia). Normal workday is 8:30-5:30; however, there are periods of increased activity requiring extended hours, after hours support, and weekends.
* Deliver weekly and monthly status reports to the project manager, covering tasks completed, upcoming tasks, issues and mitigation plans, etc.
* Attend customer meetings to include planning, risk mitigation, technical issue resolution, etc.
* Create and maintain project schedules.
* Train and mentor customer and junior staff in specific QA / Testing methodologies and processes using Rational Tools.
* Extensive experience in using Rational Requisite Pro, Rational Test Manager, and Rational Robot.


Specific Technical Skills:

* At least 5 years of experience in modifying Java or Visual BASIC test scripts generated by Rational Robot to support data pools and to create application load test scripts
* Proven experience working with customers, gathering requirements, modeling test cases, and documenting testing processes.
* Proven experience working with development of high-quality technical and functional testing documentation and written deliverables.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
