Job Description
 


Purpose of Job:

 

Support existing sales of TraceTek products to the construction and environmental protection industries throughout US and Canada.  Work with and add to existing distributor channel partners.  Recruit and train new distributors where needed.  Develop relationship with key customers as factory accounts.  Visit existing distributors to introduce new products and applications.  Train and motivate distributor sales staff.  Conduct joint calls.  Conduct customer seminars with engineering firms to introduce TraceTek technology and solution.

 

Prepare sales forecast, manage sales results and maintain data base of project opportunity and track sales expenses independently.  Manage OEM sales effort to emerging market for specialty heater panels in photovoltaic and semiconductor industry and other specialty businesses of S2 division.  This portion of the job will initially represent a small percentage of the total sales opportunity, but may grow in importance pending market development. 

 

Assist with market research, new product requirements definitions, preparation of sales and marketing literature, training materials, etc.  Maintain home office in Midwest or Texas region if located away from current Tyco Thermal Offices, or may use company office facilities in Posen IL or Houston TX area if convenient.

 

The position requires heavy travel throughout the US and Canada with some international travel for support of Latin America sales team.

 

Reports to General Manager of TraceTek product group.  No direct reports.  The compensation is a base salary plus participation in a Sales Incentive Program which can generate significant additional income based on sales results achieved.

 

 

Desired Education, Experience, and Skills:

 

Track record of successful industrial sales growth using distributor and direct channels.  Involvement with selling to general construction, electrical, mechanical and pipeline contractors is very helpful.  Knowledge of oil business (production, refining, logistic) and semi-conductor equipment and/or photo voltaic production will be a plus.

 

The ideal candidate will have a technical undergraduate degree and graduate business degree or equivalent work experience.  You will need to demonstrate a familiarity with basic electrical principles, industrial instrumentation concepts, working knowledge of networking and data communications to a level sufficient for professional presentations, sales training, consultative selling, etc.  You will not be expected to take full responsibility for complex application designs, but you need to be credible factory representative when talking to end users and their consultants.

 

Although, this is primarily a sales job, a large degree of entrepreneurial drive and desire to build a business is needed.  The successful candidate will operate on their own a majority of the time and must be comfortable without daily contract and support from an office work group.

 

The candidates will have at least 3 years of outside sales experience in a related industry and a record of increasing organizational responsibility and sales success.

 

An ability to make professional presentations in English and solid writing skills are essential.  If invited to interview for the position, come prepared with writing samples and a 10 to 15 minute sales presentation on a topic of your choice.  Spanish or Portuguese language skills are a strong plus but not an essential.
