About the Job

What you will do:


Under general direction from the Trade Compliance Manager, North America, this Trade Compliance role position will support projects and other required initiatives related to the Power Solutions Compliance Program.  This position guides and sets policies to support North America through the regional businesses.  


How you will do it:

  • Supports the continued development and deployment of a customs and international trade compliance program for all PS facilities, Subsidiaries, and controlled Joint Ventures.

  • Improve, maintain and drive the adoption of policies, procedures and processes that are required to enable Power Solutions, its subsidiaries and third parties to comply with Trade Compliance laws and regulations globally.  These include but are not limited to goods valuation, goods classification, country of origin, customs declarations, preference programs, licensing, and record keeping.

  • Coordinate with functional partners, such as; Finance, Risk Management, Legal Counsel, Tax, Information Systems, Procurement, Supply Planning, Logistics, etc. to resolve and/or improve international trade activities.

  • Responsible for reporting out International Trade compliance Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for region.

  • Stay current with regional requirements for Trade Compliance.

  • Special assignments, such as unique projects, dispute management, International trade compliance awareness building activities, and due diligence activities.

  • Support the execution of HTS classification, country of origin determination, valuation, free trade agreements, and other critical import trade compliance functions.

  • Partner with region freight forwarders and customs brokers trade compliance processes.

  • Monitor North America post entry processes to final liquidation on through to duty drawback.  

  • Support resolution of potential trade compliance risks.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to create/enhance policies, Standard Operating Procedures, training materials, and controls to support a culture of compliance with applicable regulations. Provide day-to-day regulatory guidance on packaging specifications, marking, labeling, and shipping documents.

  • Supports compliance processes and procedures in conjunction with other cross-functional and cross-divisional business areas as they relate to trade.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Transport & Distribution, or Logistics, Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in international trade either through execution of transactions, managing trade effort of a business or compliance assurance, including development of a global Trade Compliance program

  • Experience in international organization in a corporate import/export compliance setting, preferred.

  • Exceptionally good customer service skills to enhance customer experience.

  • Prefer experience with Microsoft applications, SAP, QAD, MFGPro, SharePoint, GT Nexus.

  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across multi-functional departments and at all levels of the organization.

  • Self-motivated and directed, capable of operating semi-autonomously.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities.

  • Multi-lingual in English & Spanish, preferred.

  • Travel approximately 10 - 15 %.

  • Utilize technology for efficient meetings and communication globally.
