TRAFFIC SAFETY SPECIALIST

The qualified candidate will develop, coordinate and implement strategic traffic safety plans and assist Air Force traffic safety efforts.  These efforts shall include a diverse set of traffic safety and related programs to build internal and external audience awareness, understanding, and support for key AFSC strategies and goals.  Innovative approaches to traffic safety that enhance overall Air Force effectiveness shall be implemented.  The selected applicant will develop traffic safety courses, statistic/data analysis reviews, traffic safety planning committees and multimedia education programs. Support shall also include drafting memos and messages and as well as acting as key consultant to senior leadership on traffic safety issues, motorcycle initiatives and products reviews.  Efforts shall also include support of all Air Force Traffic Safety issues, as needed.  He/She must be able to perform other duties as assigned.  The successful candidate may be required to follow other job-related instructions and job-related duties as requested. 

The selected applicant will possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree plus at least 5-6 years of experience with transportation/traffic/ground safety, and specific experience conducting efforts described above either within the military or for a contractor.  Excellent leadership, communication, presentation and creative skills are essential.  Active secret clearance preferred. Candidate must be eligible for secret.
