Immediate need for an experienced Container/Chassis Mechanic for a reputable company in Atlanta

Position Responsibilities:

Container

• Perform necessary repairs on containers as required

                  1) Dry boxes, reefers, and other types

• Cut, fit, and weld panels into container sides and roofs
• Weld cuts and patches in sides and roofs
• Cut and fit wood flooring
• Mechanical repairs to door hardware
• Painting
• May be required to blast and paint

Chassis

• Perform necessary repairs on chassis as required

1)      Diagnose and repair electrical issues in wiring/lights

2)      Diagnose and repair air brakes including ABS system

3)      Pull wheels to facilitate brake changes and wheel bearing replacements with associated components

4)      Cut, weld, and fit various components on chassis

5)      Repair and/or replace landing gear and all associated component

• Inspect chassis per annual FMCSA FHWA inspections requirements
• Complete FMCSA FHWA inspection forms
• May be required to sand blast and paint chassis
• Drive company service vehicle (mobile truck) on yard

Skills Required:

• Strong mechanical skills in the following areas:

                  Gasoline engine maintenance and repair

                  Diesel engine maintenance and repair

                  Electrical wiring repair and diagnostics

                  Hydraulic repair and diagnostics

                  Basic welding skills

                  Basic cutting and burning skills

                  Handling of large tires (removal, breakdown, and reassemble)

                  Air brake diagnostics

• Ability to lift 100 lbs
• Ability to crawl underneath a chassis
• Ability to communicate written/verbally

Work Schedule:

            40 Hrs wk

            M-F

            8-5

            Overtime may be required
