Trainer, Commercial Technical Operations

Description:
SUMMARY: Provide operations and training support for all Field Operations personnel on all commercial technical and technical operations matters. Responsible for the development and delivery of training programs and the auditing of branch operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following,

* Monitor branch performance and provide direct input on operational issues for assigned branches and assist Regional Directors and other Technical Trainers as needed

* Analyze technical operations data for field branches to develop operational and training solutions to improve field technical efficiencies

* Communicate with Regional Directors, General Managers, and Technical Managers on branch productivity, quality, and operations performance issues

* Conduct formal and informal branch technical audits on a routine basis to ensure compliance with all operating directives, training requirements, personnel development standards, safety standards, and morale issues

* Develop, implement, and monitor professional development programs for all technical personnel

* Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all technical and operational aspects of commercial operations

* Maintain a thorough knowledge of the equipment, its capabilities, and various troubleshooting techniques used in commercial technical operations

* Maintain a thorough knowledge of code requirements applicable to commercial operations in all low-voltage installation aspects

* Assist ongoing technical and safety training for all Technical Managers and Operations Managers

* Ensure commercial safety training and compliance

* Support the acquisition and maintenance of state and local licenses necessary for technical operations by the branch

* Provide direct, high-level technical support to the field-based Technical Managers and representatives of other departments, including dealers or subcontractors, to ensure that all low-voltage systems are configured, installed, and functioning according to operational specifications

* Conduct on-site job inspections and job training for technicians

* Develop and/or coordinate training and training strategies for all technicians and technical management personnel on new and existing equipment use, related policies, and procedures

* Maintain required certifications to administer and instruct all national training courses to field technical personnel

* Update and maintain all technical installation and service manuals

* Assist Director of National Commercial Operations in developing and/or implementing field guidelines and policies/procedures for all technicians and technical management teams

* Coordinate the mediation and resolution of situational events and/or personnel issues between branch Technical Managers and/or NSC departments

* Ensure field operations personnel are provided and using all equipment properly and all safety standards and operating procedures are conducted in the highest degree of safety readiness

* Ensure that all branches are properly maintaining all low-voltage permanent records as well as all inspection, testing, and maintenance records

* Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Minimum of one year field management experience at the Technical Manager level for internal candidates. Minimum of two years field management experience at a Senior Technician or equivalent level or greater for external candidates. Prior experience in developing and delivering managerial and technical training programs. Must meet the testing requirements of NICET Level 2 in Fire Alarms or CCTV within two years of employment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to clearly and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups within and outside the Company.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to prepare documents and reports utilizing graphics, word-processing, and spreadsheet software packages; Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Must be flexible and possess excellent time management, project management, organizational, and strong leadership skills.
