Corporate trainer needed for rapidly growing oilfield service company. This small company (~50 employees) has doubled in size over the past year and is poised for significant growth in 2010. We need a training professional who can quickly learn our business and help us maintain our reputation for outstanding quality by improving the skills and performance of our workforce.
Responsibilities:
Classroom and field training of new hires and experienced personnel – Conduct orientation, skill building and proficiency training in communication, safety, oil/gas industry basics, geology, work procedures, quality assurance and equipment troubleshooting/maintenance. Maintaining existing and developing new classes and related examinations – Maintain existing curriculum and instruction modules, develop new instruction modules, develop classroom and field examinations. Improving quality through training – review quality records to identify areas where improvement is necessary, modify curriculum and/or develop necessary training modules to eliminate deficiencies, administer training and follow up on quality effectiveness.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in education or an energy-related technical field. Must have good communication and presentation skills and computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ideal candidate will have teaching or corporate training experience but we are willing to consider a geologist or engineer with good communication skills. Experience and/or education in the oil and gas industry, earth science or geology a significant plus.
This is a significant opportunity for someone to build and operate a top-notch training program in the energy industry. This individual will report to the company’s president and will have a high degree of autonomy.
This position is based in Tulsa but will require approximately 50% travel to Pennsylvania and West Virginia, with travel to other states possible in 2010. Some field training will require travel to drilling sites.
