Training Coordinator 3rd & 4th Shift (Fri, Sat & Sun 3p.m. - 12:00 midnight , plus some weekdays)

Summary of Primary Functions:

To develop and present a strong training program with the involvement of all team members and to develop continuing education in “soft skills” that go beyond the technical SPECS processes.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

·         Coordinate and oversee the training activities that are assigned

·         Track and report the hours and cost of training, as well as, the impact of training through the key operating statistics, turnover and team member survey results.

·         Assist in the new hire orientation.

·         Continue the cross-training initiatives

·         Assist with the development of new training materials and programs.

·         Research and recommend alternative training resources to provide the best training for the investment.

·         Conduct training sessions for management, supervisors, team leaders and team members.

·         Ensure the facility’s compliance with ISO 9000 training requirements and documentation

·         Aid in the updating and revisions of existing training modules

·         Assist with the planning for all team member training plans.

·         Develop, implement and manage a training program for the facility

·         Develop a training program to train potential Team Leaders and Supervisors

·         Formalize training plans and requirements beyond the SPECS modules for team members.

·         Develop a system to track the impact and cost of training.

·         Development of methods to analyze the training programs for effectiveness.

Education and Experience Requirements:

·         2 to 3 years of experience facilitating/developing training programs in a manufacturing/technical setting.

·         Optical experience preferred.

·         High School Diploma or GED required, AS or BS degree preferred.

·         Strong presentation skills.

·         Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and EXCEL).

·         Ability to work with management in coordination and facilitation of training for employees with the facility.

·         Perform the administrative end of the training process in accordance with ISO 9002

·         Experience in providing technical and soft skill training in a diverse workplace

·         Ability to conduct On-the-Job training in a manufacturing setting without causing a distraction.

 

Physical Requirements:

Able to work 8-10 hour shifts, sit or stand for long periods of time. Ability to meet the requirements of the manufacturing area as needed.  Repetitive use of hands and wrists.  Lift up to 30 pounds.
