Takes action to make the Columbus Optical Center “The Best Place to Work” for our Associates.
Give associates the tools/ training to understand and implement work instructions and standard operating procedures within the COC facility.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop, coordinate, and provide strong hands-on training to current and new associates in the Distribution Center, Manufacturing, and other departments.
· Proactive in identifying training needs and recommending alternative training resources.
· Document training plans and post on training board weekly.
· Update and publish all relevant training records and plans on a weekly basis.
· Track and report the hours and cost of training. Calculate and communicate the impact of training through the key operating metrics, turnover, and associate satisfaction.
· Assist in new hire orientation.
· Maintain training materials by updating SPECS materials with new items and discarding old items. (ie. handouts, videos, documents, SPECS manuals, etc.)
· Conduct weekly training meetings with team leaders and supervisors.
· Conduct quality and time evaluations for manufacturing associates.
· Conduct annual safety training for all associates.
· Participate in monthly SPECS conference calls and attend weekly facility meetings.
· Maintain associate training files.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

· High School diploma or GED required, some college preferred.
· Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience facilitating/developing training programs in a manufacturing/technical setting.
· Optical experience strongly preferred.
· Ability to work shift hours.
· Currently not on corrective action and have not been on corrective action in the last 12 months.
· Performance Level of 3 or higher on last performance review.
