JOB DESCRIPTION


 


TITLE:                       Training Coordinator for Adult Education


 


DEPARTMENT:       Center for the Child Care Careers


 


REPORTS TO:          Chief Executive Officer 


 


Status:                         Exempt 






JOB SUMMARY:  Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and counseling activities of the vocational school by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.


 


Duties:



  1. Develops and evaluates the educational program to ensure conformance to state and accrediting board standards.
  2. Develops and coordinates educational programs through meetings with staff, review of teachers' activities, and issuance of directives.
  3. Confers with teachers, and students concerning educational and behavioral problems in school.
  4. Establishes and maintains relationships with colleges, community organizations, and other schools to coordinate educational services.
  5. Requisitions and allocates supplies, equipment, and instructional material as needed.
  6. Directs preparation of class schedules, cumulative records, and attendance reports.
  7. Develops and administers educational programs for students with mental or physical disabilities.
  8. Conducts self-study for ACCET accreditation process.  The school is already accredited.  Prepares all items necessary to continue accreditation.
  9. Evaluates teaching techniques and recommends changes for improving them.
  10. Design, implement and monitor vocational school polices & procedures.
  11. Design, implement and evaluate curriculum.
  12. Design and monitor new additions to the vocational school, i.e. literacy training.
  13. Interviews, recommends, trains, orientates, supervises and evaluates all staff in department including all consultant instructors.
  14. Teaches classes for the Director's Academy and various other workshops or classes.
  15. Responsible for annual evaluation of programs, instructors and placement services.
  16. Oversees literacy testing for scholarships and vocational school students.
  17. Responsible for marketing of vocational school by maintaining school catalogue, calendar, handbook, attending school fairs, working with High School Guidance Counselors and updating our internet site.
  18. Any duty assigned by the Chief Executive Officer or his/her designee.

 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


Directly supervises one to four employees and four consultant instructors in the Center for Child Care Careers.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

1 Instructor/Placement Counselor


1 Clerical Support Staff


4 Consultant Instructors


 


 QUALIFICATIONS


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education:


Bachelors degree required and four to ten years related experience.  Must have Early Care and Education experience (classroom experienc with infants through school age) 


 


Language Skills:


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.


 


Mathematical Skills:


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


 


Reasoning Ability:


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
