Primary Title:               Training Development and Quality Manager  

 

Reports To:                  Project Manager

 

Purpose of the Position:

The Training Development and Quality Manager for Iraq Operations (ISMO) is a management position designed to directly support GLS’s commitment to providing world class operations to global government and commercial customers.  This position focuses on ensuring retention of best qualified personnel and skill development of all ISMO personnel.

Principal Position Responsibilities:

Performs many of the following responsibilities as they pertain to assigned ISMO Operations:

 

  • Assess linguists evaluations methods and application of these evaluations in the retention process.
  • Develop additional evaluation tools, in consultation with the ISMO Program Manager, including assessment methods and measurement systems.
  • Assess relevant training and evaluation needs for possible contract modification, in consultation with the ISMO Program Manager, including skill assessment methods and measurement systems.
  • Maintain currency with respect to relevant skill and qualifications levels required by contracts for effective performance.
  • Produce organizational strategy and plans to meet training and evaluation needs, and manage training delivery, measurement and follow-up as necessary.
  • Design training courses and programs necessary to meet training needs, or manage this activity via external provider(s).
  • Identify, select and manage external training and accreditation bodies, agencies and providers necessary to deliver required training to appropriate standards.
  • Organize training venues, logistics, transport, accommodation as required to achieve efficient training attendance and delivery.
  • Plan and deliver training courses personally where necessary.
  • Arrange for the maintenance of all necessary equipment and materials relating to the effective delivery and measurement of training.
  • Through Operational Field Assessments (OFA), ensure all training activities and materials meet with relevant organizational and statutory policies, including health and safety, employment and equality laws.
  • Monitor and report on activities, casts, performance, etc. as required.
  • Review and evaluate the work of others.
  • Select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Establish rapport and good communication with co-workers, clients and others.


Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years of experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.

 

Experience Required:

  • Experience in contract linguist environment resulting in understanding of linguist and staff requirements to support customer need.
  • Minimum of combined five (5) years in managing training efforts and/or contract linguist management.
  • Strong creative production skills (training manuals, written documents, training aids, presentation slides, other creative media sources)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of a variety of training concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong operational background congruent with skills utilized for training.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Secret Security Clearance.
  • All applicants will undergo background investigation, medical examination and counterintelligence screening as conditions of employment on this contract.

Exempt

 

Travel:

50% - 75% within regions.

 

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

Must be able to live and work in an austere environment.
