Training and Development Specialist (43525)

Description

The incumbent will be responsible for conducting training programs (both software application and interpersonal skills) for Dewberry executive, professional, technical and administrative staff. This will be accomplished through the use of programs developed internally as well as those acquired externally through third parties. Will participate in the design and development of internally produced training products. The trainer will be responsible for other duties as management assigns to influence the training and professional development of Dewberry employees.

This position will reside in the Human Resource function reporting directly to the Director, Training and Development. This individual will interact with employees at all levels. In performing day-to-day responsibilities the incumbent will also interact on a regular basis with the Training Specialist, HR Training Coordinator, and Information Technology workgroup.



Required Skills

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) along with 4 - 6 years of experience facilitating education/training programs in a business or academic environment
  • Experience should include one-on-one coaching
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, interpersonal skills, Teambuilding and collaboration
  • Knowledge of adult learning
  • Knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Office products to include Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and Excel
  • Knowledge and experience with online training tools
  • Time management and multiple priority management
  • This position may require up to 30 percent travel. Some work on Saturdays may be required


Required Experience

  • Conduct systems training with enterprise-wide systems such as, Enterprise 1 and others that may be required.
  • Conduct other training as needed and coordinate with other business operations as necessary.
  • Coordinate training including the dissemination of training program information, establishing participant criteria, working with internal subject matter experts, etc.
  • Create training reports showing number of attendees and evaluation summary information.
  • Assist in the review and development of online programs.
  • Assist in the development of course content and graphics for various programs that are included on The Dewberry Learning Center course calendar.
  • Learn and utilize training methods via webinar and other blended learning approaches.
  • Proctor certifications exams as needed.
