Summary:
This position conducts training for new and existing employees in support of operational goals while driving customer satisfaction for vessel and land-based employees. Ensures compliance with company policy and government regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides leadership, direction, advice and counsel to all new hires in familiarizing them with ACL and our industry.
Evaluates recruits on the information taught during classroom and skills practices to insure competency.
Develops various training methods to communicate required information.Resolves issues and problems that occur during training sessions.
Assists in building curriculum that is “hands on” to provide experiential learning for employees.
Conducts mentoring programs to orient new hires or newly promoted / transferred employees into ACL’s environments.
Partners with operations and Human Resources to determine training needs for each Region.]Schedules and organizes training sessions to meet operational needs.
Assists with the development and execution of “train the trainer” sessions for operations management personnel
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Demands:
B.S. degree in Education or related field is preferred. 3-5 years of transportation industry experience in marine or other transportation environment. Incumbent must be an experienced trainer. Incumbent must possess a working knowledge of USCG regulations and OSHA standards. Incumbent must be able to travel as needed, with minimal notice. Incumbent must possess ability to communicate professionally and effectively through normal channels, including meetings, email and presentation formats. Incumbent possesses proficiency in using standard MS Office software products. Possession of fire fighter training certificate is helpful. Incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license and TWIC card.
