LARGE RETAIL COMPANY IS LOOKING FOR:

 

POSITION:  Training and Organization Development Director

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum 10 years increasingly responsible experience in L&D within an HR setting.

LOCATION:  Tennessee - Nashville

SALARY - 140-170K -  

BONUS - 30% 

RELOCATION - Available

 

Work Experience and/or Education

o Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration or related field required. Graduate degree preferred.

o A minimum 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in Learning and Development, within a competitive human resources setting including at least 5 years leading these functions in a large company.

o Previous retail industry training & development and/or organizational development experience a plus.

Compensation will consist of a competitive salary based on your experience, with bonus potential.

 

The Training and Organizational Development Director, while reporting to the Chief People Officer, partners with management to build bench of human capital by providing strategic leadership in training, organizational design and the development of organizational and employee competencies. While directing the design and implementation of training and organizational development programs, policies and procedures the Director will oversee implementation of required changes and enhancements to existing programs based upon organizational capabilities' assessments to achieve company goals.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement workforce planning initiatives that allow the organization to anticipate and address changes to workforce availability and requirements.

• Provide leadership and counsel to department leaders for the development of training programs that will support the company strategy.

• Facilitate change management methodologies and work with management to assess training and development needs and ensure the implementation of changes and enhancements.

• Partner with field HR to ensure the efficient operation of existing field training centers, as well as, the determination of future centers.

• Provide leadership on the development of company wide programs to include, internship, mentorship, succession planning and performance management.

• Determine future avenues for administering learning and development programs such as eLearning and other computer based systems.

• Enhance individual and team performance by creating a climate of continuous learning in support of the organization's strategic initiatives.

• Maintain current knowledge on advances in the learning and development field, as well as, changes in the legal environment that will improve or affect the department's methods and practices.

• Demonstrated ability in designing, selecting and integrating wide-scale training programs and a working knowledge of the laws that affect this field.

• Proven ability utilizing various testing and measurement tools to validate and evaluate the effectiveness of training and testing programs.

• Proven abilities in the area of organizational design and employee development that drives higher degrees of organizational effectiveness.

• Demonstrated ability designing, selecting and integrating internally developed and vendor supplied training material into a large organization across a wide geographic area.

• Excellent written and oral communication /presentation skills in order to effectively provide advice and counsel to a wide range of employees.

• Superior consultative skills and the demonstrated ability to work as a business partner.

• Experience managing a staff of seasoned professionals and hourly employees.
