Training Specialist (32155)
Description
Training Specialist- NVC Job Description: The Training Specialist will be primarily engaged in training program development, deployment and support. Qualified candidates will have experience in operational assessment and the translation of that assessment into detailed classroom or hardcopy training programs. Additional responsibilities will include record keeping for all training activities, oversight of NVC manual rewrites, and evaluation of existing training programs. The Training Specialist will support a Department of State contract in a government facility to ensure all aspects of the training coordination are implemented for the site. The ability to interact on a professional level with the in-house customer and build a positive working relationship is also critical to this position. A detailed understanding of immigrant visa processing requirements and past experience working with government contracts are a plus. Essential Duties: The Training Specialist will prepare briefs and reports that relate to all training provided within the NVC. All training records will be maintained by this position along with a centralized training calendar. All classroom training will be conducted by the Training Specialist including VPS and File Clerk specific training and train-the-trainer sessions for managers on in-unit specific training. This position will be responsible for creating unit specific functional training curriculums along with a specific training plan for each functional unit. The Training Specialist will be considered part of the senior management team and as such will participate in strategic level meetings. The Training Specialist must be flexible and able to deliver training on either first or second shift as dictated by the needs of the business. Skills and Abilities: - High level of proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word computer programs.

Required Experience: - A minimum of 5 years training related work experience.
- Previous work in a Department of State visa environment is desired.
- Work experience demonstrating a high level of proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word computer programs.
- Work experience demonstrating excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Previous experience providing classroom training is a plus.
- Training certificate from and accredited college or university or a professional training organization is a plus.
