Training Specialist II
SUMMARY Position is responsible for the development and delivery of classroom and computer-based training for both new and existing employees, including technical, skills-based and refresher training. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ø Deliver exempt training, including supervisor and management development curriculum, ensuring that training objectives are achieved Ø Using established course materials, deliver new hire and refresher training, ensuring that associates achieve training class, production and quality goals Ø Manage multiple training rooms, including scheduling and maintenance to ensure maximum utilization to support multiple business units Ø Assist with the design, development and implementation of training programs for employees in multiple locations nationwide Ø Support the identification, assessment and prioritization of training opportunities based on business strategies and competency development needs of the organization Ø Lead / participate on project teams as needed and required per department direction Ø Support all levels of management to identify and resolve problems through analysis of employee expectations, resources available and employee skill and knowledge Ø Develop training evaluation and testing to gauge the effectiveness of program and materials Ø Maintain and use tracking mechanisms for classes and projects Ø Prepare and coordinate working examples to support class curriculum Ø Maintain deadlines associated with class schedules, project dates, set-up times and locations Ø Communicate with leadership and team members to continually evaluate and refine the training courses as needed. Ø Evaluate and customize vendor-training packages to meet location and department training requirements SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Ø none QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Ø Associate degree or equivalent, bachelor degree strongly preferred. Ø 3-5 years professional experience, with 2 years experience in training; or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ø Considerable knowledge of up-to-date development tools, employee assessments, learning systems, and virtual technology is a necessity Ø Skill in instructional design, blended learning programs, and e-learning delivery is essential Ø Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ø Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and the public EEO/AA Employer
