Training Specialist
Objective:
Training Specialist must possess an extensive knowledge in US military small unit tactics, which includes convoy operations and possess a combat background. Serves as the primary trainer and facilitator for Virtual Combat Convoy Trainer (VCCT); conducts the Operator Trainer Course (OTC) for the Virtual Convoy Operations Trainer (VCOT). Uses appropriate US tactical military doctrine to develop, conduct, and plan training that reinforces current Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP’s). Assists US Army leadership with evaluations at the squad and platoon level and provides feedback using current Training, Evaluations, and Objectives. Assist chain of command with Troop Leading Procedures (TLP), Operations Order development and determines training strengths and weaknesses; conducts After Action Reviews (AAR). Develops operator manuals and maintains services training equipment.
Typical Duties:

Operates, monitors and controls virtual training systems to support unit training objectives.

Assists military leaders in accomplishing their real world training requirements, based on US military doctrine and knowledge of current Tactic, Techniques and Procedures.

Assists military instructors in the operation of simulation training systems to train soldiers.

Assists military instructors in collecting data and conducting performance analysis and after action reviews.

Travels with mobile training systems.

This position requires frequent travel, with short term and long term deployments to both domestic and international locations required.

Conducts instruction on IED’s (NOFORN).

Possess strong oral and written communications.

Minimum requirements:
- Knowledge of US military small unit tactics.
- Military leadership experience at platoon level or higher.
- Eleven years in US military with knowledge of US military small unit tactics with a combat background; or seven years experience in other small group instructional course position (such as civilian educational background, Simulation Instruction, or Observer/Controller instruction) with a major certification such as A+ technical certification.
- Must possess strong oral and written communications skills.
- Have the ability to travel for extended periods of time and to other countries.
- A valid drivers license and automobile insurability.
Candidates must be U.S. Persons as defined in the ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation), 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of US Army training concepts and operational convoy combat doctrine and tactics.
- Military experience as a Master Gunner, Battlestaff NCO or higher (Non-commissioned officer) (J3, 2S, A8, K8, 6B, 5U, etc.)
- Experience writing training lesson plans, training courses, and operator manuals.
- Observer/Controller, or Simulation Trainer certification.
- Graduate of an officer or noncommissioned officer advanced course.
