Transportation Service Specialist (Drivers)
Miami/Fort Lauderdale Areas
FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Deliver orders to customers in a safe and timely manner and in good condition while maintaining a professional demeanor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Ability to safely operate 18’-24’ straight truck and tractor-trailer combinations 28-53 ft.
2. Delivers food and related products to customers by unloading product from trailers and transporting it to specified location using two-wheel carts or pallet jacks (manual or electric).
3. Collects and counts C.O.D. orders. Accepts accountability for C.O.D. orders.
4. Maintains DOT required logs indicating hours of service.
5. Correctly mark invoices noting discrepancies, returns, shorts, etc.
6. Unloads and verifies all returned products with appropriate check-in personnel.
7. Organize invoices, cash, and checks for check-in procedure.
8. Accurately counts and loads back-haul products.
9. Familiar with DOT regulations regarding operation of tractor-trailer.
10. Works overtime as required and in accordance with DOT regulations.
11. Maintain Sysco Preferred Work Methods for safety.
12. Other duties as requested by Supervisor.
13. Work Days: Monday through Saturday, Weekends and holidays.
14. Work Hours: scheduling is based on daily route schedule.

1. High School diploma or G.E.D. Previous similar experience preferred.

7. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
8. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical apparatus and is regularly exposed to vibration.
9. The employee constantly works in high traffic areas alongside forklifts, double pallet jacks, single pallet jacks, large trucks.
10. The employee constantly works and walks on a concrete floor. The employee will regularly work in a temperature ranging from -5 to 95 degrees or above.
11. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places.
12. The employee must lift, carry, and/or move up to 100 pounds.
13. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
14. While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to cold conditions, moving machinery and equipment, and high noise levels.
15. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.
