St. Joseph's Villa is a nonprofit organization which provides care and education to more than 500 children and families each day. We are the oldest and largest continuously operating children’s nonprofit organization in metropolitan Richmond.
The Villa is currently hiring for a Treatment Specialist to be a part of our Children’s Educational Services.
Position Overview:
The Treatment Specialist is responsible for student’s treatment from the time of the referral and admission; formal and informal assessments; treatment planning and implementation; crises intervention to discharge planning and aftercare. Guides the work of faculty and counselors in a team based environment. Coordinates treatment with all relevant resources. As co-leader of management team, provides clinical oversight including areas affecting program development and success, staff, training, licensure, and supervision. Advocates for the clients and the Villa in the community.
Population:
Elementary, Middle and High School students with emotional, learning or multiple psychiatric diagnoses or Elementary through High School students with autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities. Students requiring additional support to remain in mainstream education systems. Students with varying needs attending summer programs.
Area of Specialization:
Behavior management, crisis intervention, conflict resolution and specialized tools for specific populations, Picture Exchange Communication System, Childhood Autism Reading Scale, Behavior Assessment System for Children, Vineland, Sensory Integration and Functional Behavioral Assessments and behavior contracting. Working knowledge of Individualized Educational Plans. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Life Space Crisis Intervention skills preferred. Parent support or education facilitation.
Assessment Tools Used:
Behavior Assessment System for Children, Ages and Stages, Individualized Education Plans, Inventory for Client and Agency Planning (ICAP), Childhood Autism Reading Scale, Vineland, Parental Stress Index, genograms, and functional behavioral assessments.
REQUIRED Qualifications:
- MS degree in human service related field.
- Licensure preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience with relevant population.
- Assessment skills.
- Certification in specialty area preferred (e.g., BCBA, LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
- Proficient with Windows, Outlook, internet research, MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with proprietary software preferred.
- Able to communicate well orally and in writing.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Valid Virginia driver's license with excellent driving record.
