Commercial driver applicants will not be considered for employment unless they meet the minimum requirements listed


below.


• Be at least 21 years old Be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, to


understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and


records


• Be physically and mentally qualified to drive a company vehicle and possess a valid medical certificate as defined


in 49 CFR Part 391


• Possess a current and valid commercial driver’s license and proper endorsements for the type of commercial


vehicle to be driven


• Must not be disqualified to drive a commercial/non-commercial motor vehicle under the rules and regulations


set forth in 49 CFR Part 391.15


• Meets all of the requirements and be able to perform all of the tasks and essential duties of the job description


• Has not been convicted of any of the following violations within the previous five years:


o Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs


o Reckless driving/speed contests


o Hit and run accidents


o Vehicular manslaughter/homicide


o Leaving the scene of an accident


o Failure to report an accident


o Improper or erratic lane changing


o Distracted driving (including cell phone use [texting or talking] while driving)


o Flee/elude police officer


o Passing a stopped school bus


o Refusal to submit to a alcohol and/or drug test


o Operating with a suspended or revoked license


• Has not experienced any of the following within the previous three years:


o Two “at fault” accidents


o Three moving violations


o Two moving violations and one “at fault” accident


o Tested positive to drugs or alcohol

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE


High school diploma or
GED required and/or previous driving experience preferred.


 


LANGUAGE
SKILLS


Ability to read and
interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and
correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
employees of organization.


 


MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS




Ability to add,
subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and
to draw and interpret bar graphs.




REASONING
ABILITY


Ability to apply common
sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or
diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete
variables in standardized situations. Ability to adhere to delegation of
authority and lead by instructions of management and supervision.

Attendance is an
