This is a Contract position of 3 months duration.

Must Have:

* Minimum of four years experience as a UNIX Systems Administrator with at least two years supporting a highly-available, 24x7-production, UNIX environment.
* Expert level knowledge of UNIX network services such as mail, DNS, and LDAP.
* Prior experience with SAN systems, including Brocade switches, EMC arrays, and Emulex HBAs.
* Working knowledge of backup systems, including Veritas NetBackup, StorageTek and SpectraLogic Tape Libraries.
* Prior experience supporting e-commerce applications.
* Experience in on-call environments.
* Ability to help others in a fast paced and perpetually changing systems environment.
* Expert level knowledge of shell and perl scripting.
* Expert level knowledge of SSL, SSH, and PGP.
* Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks in parallel and prioritize between them.
* Excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
* Ability to work in groups as a team player.
* Candidate must be proactive and solution-oriented
* Experience with Cloud Computing (EC2, Limelight, Eucaluptus)
* Web Applications (Ecommerce, Weblogic, Tomcat)

Nice to Have:

* Prior experience with Solaris 10/SPARC or RHEL4/5
* Experience with Sun Update Connection
* Weblogic Application Server
* E-Commerce experience
* Bachelors Degree

Responsibilities:

* Provide tier 3 support services for UNIX, storage, and load balancing systems in the enterprise.
* Responsibilities include host security, performance analysis and corrections, disk space management and responding to network issues and hardware failures.
* Build operational policies and procedures for successfully running UNIX in a large enterprise environment.
* Automate regular operational tasks using shell and perl scripts.
* Clearly document maintenance and support procedures for routine tasks in order to leverage tier 1 NOC support.
* Prepare project documentation, execute according to plan and provide regular status updates.
* Provide technical mentoring to other systems administrators.

Job Description:

We are looking for a technically skilled individual with good analytical skills and a strong work ethic to join a team responsible for deploying and maintaining the 24x7 operations of all production UNIX systems across Company. Successful candidate must have experience with system configurations and support procedures that promote monthly service uptime of at least 99.9%.
