Electric Power R&D Company Seeks Project Manager for System Turbine-Generator Projects (Charlotte, NC)
The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is looking for a Project Manager for the Major Component Reliability area of its Generation sector.
In This Position
In this role, you will provide:
- Management of applied research projects related to nuclear and fossil steam turbine-generator operation, maintenance, reliability, design and performance
- New concepts for R&D projects based on EPRI-member company component experts
- Application support on EPRI researchproject results
- Identification of new and innovative solutions and initiatives to critical industry needs and issues related to the operations, maintenance, reliability, design and performance of nuclear and fossil steam turbines-generators
- Coordination and technical support to related programs within EPRI
- Technical support of marketing initiatives for the EPRI Steam Turbine-Generator program
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering (advanced degree preferred).
- Has ten years of experience in fossil or nuclear plant steam turbine-generator operations and maintenance, with an emphasis on turbine-generator reliability, repair, and overhaul processes.
- Has familiarity with steam turbine design and component failure modes, remaining life analysis processes, steam turbine cycle efficiency and/or heat rate improvement initiatives in power plants.
- Exercises strong initiative and good judgment when leading complex programs and projects.
- Has experience with enterprise tools for managing project budgets and spending
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and establish strong working relationships with multiple (client) interest groups.
- Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. Can demonstrate experience with effective technical writing.
- Can organize and lead meetings and obtain consensus on diverse and complex technical issues with engineers and research program executives.
EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA).
