The Healthcare & Science business of Thomson Reuters provides intelligent information to better manager the cost and quality of healthcare and accelerate scientific research and innovation.
Outside sales professional responsible for managing North American academic account relationships with small universities and private colleges. Sales targets will be achieved through new business development and up-sell of existing accounts. Product portfolio includes a mix of renewable subscription based products including searchable web databases, print and CD indexes, analytical tools and specialized software. This includes data within journal literature, patent, and chemical information. Facilitate brand and product awareness through attendance at various trade industry conferences and at onsite client meetings.
- Must develop and maintain a level of product knowledge and proficiency in demonstrating products to a target audience.
- Spend 30% of time in front of new and existing clients.
- The coordination of activities and projects with other sales and marketing staff.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager/director on a permanent or temporary basis.
- Sell new subscriptions to existing and new customers through up-selling, renewals, marketing campaigns, and cold calling.
- Achieve quotas on renewals and new sales.
- Liaise with Sales Management, Marketing, Technical Support and other sales supporting departments to provide superb customer service.
- Work within CRM system (Salesforce.com) to ensure information is maintained for information and reporting purposes and to efficiently manage the sales process.
- Help to create a positive and motivating work environment.
- A bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 2 years sales experience and/or industry experience.
- History of sales success.
- Proficient in fundamentals of sales.
- Awareness of Company vision and goals.
- A good team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Well organized and disciplined with regards policy, procedure and standards.
- Good oral and written communications.
- Can set priorities and be flexible in changing environment.
- A science or technical background is preferred.
