User Experience Researcher, Senior (G-SEA 9256)

Who You Are:

The User Experience Researcher is responsible for designing, conducting, analyzing, and interpreting user research to ensure the most comprehensive information is obtained from our stakeholders and customers in order to solve critical business problems and ensure that the user experience of our website is an industry leader.  Responsible for working with business stakeholders to develop and evaluate product ideas and direction.  Responsible for educating business owners, product managers, technology, and other UX team members about UX principles.

Your Next Challenge:

  • Represent user needs during product definition, requirements gathering, project planning, UI design and product launch.
  • Develop comprehensive research plans that provide primary and secondary research; administer studies, communicate findings in written and verbal reports, generate action plans and follow up to ensure issues are addressed.
  • Work closely with the research team to peer-review and provide feedback on study plans, reports, and presentations, and to research and report on current industry literature. 
  • Serve as user experience evangelist, educating others in the company at all levels about customer workflows, needs, and user-experience issues.
  • Mentor junior research team members.

What You'll Need:

  • B.A. or M.A. in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or related social science, or equivalent graduate-level coursework.
  • Minimum 6-8 years experience in user research.
  • Experience with multiple user research methodologies, such as lab studies, field research, iterative prototype testing, and surveys/questionnaires.
  • Experience across multiple product lines and technology.
  • Demonstrated passion for UX research.
  • Solid understanding of data analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communicate skills; capable of constructing effective arguments for methods and results.
  • Ability to make effective group presentations.
  • Work effectively in high pressure and high pace environment.
  • Able to quickly assess risk accurately and prioritize efforts accordingly.
  • Able to optimize resources to support the agile development process.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Willingness and ability to travel both within the US and internationally (must have valid passport).
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint. Familiarity with HTML and SPSS (or similar statistical program) is useful.
