VP Business Development, Bio-Pharma

Description

A major player in the bio-pharmaceutical industry is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Executive (VP-level).  The VP/ BDV is responsible for cultivating new relationships, and maintaining existing ones, with key decision makers in potential and assigned client companies within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. The position, which may include as much as 50% travel, is based in a Northern New Jersey office. Among the responsibilities for this position are:

** Prospecting and lead generation via email, social networking, cold calling, etc.

** Manage the evaluation process for bio-pharmaceutical company opportunities

** Create, manage, and execute the brand plan, collaborating with internal team members (client services, project management, etc.)

** Develop proposal, negotiate details, and close sale.

The position reports to the SVP of Business Development, and pays a base salary that ranges from $125,000 - $155,000 (depending on experience). An aggressive commission plan, including residuals, is being developed. Monthly car allowance, iPad, iPhone, expenses, and benefits are also included.

 

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position must have a Bachelor’s Degree, (MBA preferred), and a minimum of six (6) years experience in high-level sales/business development into the biotech-pharmaceutical marketplace. Call points in this industry will be primarily aimed at the clients’ Marketing and eMarketing departments. While digital marketing sales are highly preferred, other sales related to pharma- marketing strategies (i.e., direct mail to HCP, etc.) will be considered.

TheVP/ BDV must also have experience in developing and delivering one- on- one and group presentations.

The position calls for the VP/BDV to be both conceptual AND tactical in abilities.

Strong market analytical skills and business acumen are essential, as is Digital/Software or Technical Product experience.  Excellent presentation and communications’ skills are key, as external and internal clients and vendors will be involved in the processes. Outstanding candidates who have worked on the AdvertisingAgency side of the business will be seriously considered, provided their experience is steeped in the ethical pharmaceutical market.
