AMERICAN SYSTEMS has an exciting opportunity in Chantilly, VA.  We are currently seeking a dynamic leader with a strong business background focused on government IT markets to join our leadership team. 


Responsibilities:

A successful candidate will have P&L responsibility over the Custom Business Applications unit.  The responsibilities include planning, budgeting, contract administration, business development, technical/logistical direction, personnel management, timely completion of program milestones and deliverable products, and daily interfacing with major customer representatives.  As a part of the leadership and management team, he/she will participate in AMERICAN SYSTEMS strategic planning and business reviews. 

In addition, the Vice President/Director will:

 

·         Provide guidance, direction, and supervision in the areas of new business development, proposal preparation, requirements integration, of IT systems and software development for U. S.  Government agencies and commercial industries with specific focus on DHS, DoD, and DoJ

·         Build and maintain a robust business development pipeline

·         Review and approve work performed by subcontractors and vendors

·         Serve as the primary point of contact with customer program management on their respective contracts and delivery orders

·         Develop and execute a business plan

·         Maintain a comprehensive staffing program to ensure that all ongoing programs and business development functions are adequately staffed

·        Assist in the development and execution of strategic goals, exercises direction and supervision of Program Managers, Functional Managers, Office Manager, and Administrative staff

 

Experience:
 

·         7 - 15 years in government IT software development and systems integrations industry 

·         Actively involved in business development for Federal Government IT systems and solutions including case management systems, RMS, analytical tools, and systems integration

·          Experience in the business development process including customer/opportunity identification, campaign and capture plan development, pricing strategy development, and proposal development

·         Thorough understanding of the government IT and Systems Integration market.

·         Detailed understanding of the government contracting environment.   

·         Actively involved in delivery of a complex IT system that included requirements definition and analysis, concept of operation, design, development, integration, test and support

·         Financial recording and reporting system experience – Earned Value Management System experience is a plus.

·         Secret or TS clearance desireable

Education – BS or BA minimum, MS or MBA is a plus
