The ECA VP of Student Finance is responsible for providing thought, action, and process leadership for the Student Finance organization in order to achieve Student Finance objectives and company goals. This role has overall responsibility for the outcomes and reporting of the company’s Career Student Finance effort, and reports to the CFO. This position will ensure that Title IV and student finance policy and process are developed and implemented according to all state, federal, and accreditation regulations.  The position is responsible for coordination of these regulations between all other departments of the college.


Oversee all functions and accountability within the ECA Student Finance organization. Will be the designated Financial Aid Administrator for the college with the Department of Education, state and regional offices as well as third party resources in area of student finance. Interpretation and effective implementation of student finance policies and procedures within the Student Finance department. Evaluate student finance training needs and develop training for all Student Finance personnel. Function as first line support for Student Finance Area Directors to be more effective and productive Incorporate federal, state, and company student finance policies and procedures into operations. Ensures that the Student Finance department is operating in compliance with the Department of Education requirements and adheres to those guidelines pertaining to Title IV. Assess the effectiveness of student finance operations and makes the necessary changes to ensure accountability. Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing; recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates student finance personnel. Partner with Regional and Campus Leadership to take corrective action where appropriate to increase or improve campus operations.

Maintain regular communication, relationships and coordination with other departments (e.g., Vice President of Admissions, Senior Vice President of Academic Operations and Chief Compliance Officer) to ensure the student life cycle is positively processed in accordance with all federal and state regulations. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


Master's degree in a related Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts, or Social Sciences discipline with at least 12+ years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Prior work experience can offset the degree requirement provided a detailed listing of prior experience is submitted to and approved by the corporate leader responsible for the area and the EVP of Human Resources.


  • Ability to identify and secure alternative funding/revenue sources.
  • Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, and direct student financial assistance programs and initiatives.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, methodology, and procedures for the provision of student financial aid.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Knowledge of financial/business analysis techniques.
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and community relations skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse workplace.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the provision of student finance.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial information and to develop and prepare financial statements and ad hoc reports and analyses.
  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of clientele and/or media sources.
  • Employee development and performance management skills.
  • Knowledge of standard and/or fund accounting principles, methods, and applications.
