We have an immediate opening for an experienced VP, Sales to run our US Sales Organization and report to the President of the company. We are a dynamic, growth oriented, busy company in need of a results oriented, multi-tasker to lead our Sales Department by developing our sales team to maintain our existing customers and grow the business with both new and existing customers.



Our team consists of Gourmet Chocolate & Pastry Ingredient Sales People, most of whom have extensive Chef or Pastry/Chocolate backgrounds. You will manage our client base, and establish new relationships both in the Gourmet Food Service and Retail sectors. In this leadership role, and reporting to the President of Qzina, you will mentor our sales team, lead them, train them, develop their sales and professional skills, implement our sales programs and strategies, engineer and execute our corporate objectives for both organic and territory expansion and growth, and reinforce our existing efforts in managing our extensive critical client base across the United States.



 


Job Summary and Scope:


 





    • Accomplishes sales strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; assisting with recruitment and selection; ensures orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs are in place, with the assistance of the HR Director; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies.



    • Develops sales organizational strategies by contributing sales information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing sales objectives in line with organizational objectives. Communicates this information at Executive Meetings with the rest of the Executive Team



    • Develops sales financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating sales requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.



    • Recommends and accomplishes annual profit contribution by preparing sales forecasts; establishing sales objectives; maintaining and managing a broker sales network; establishing and maintaining rapport with key customers; negotiating and obtaining orders; developing promotional strategies with our Marketing Director.



    • Maintains customer service by capturing orders; assuring compliance with customer specifications; coordinating shipment with production planning and warehouse; advising brokers and customers of order status.



    • Other Executive level sales duties, as determined by the President and in conjunction with the rest of the Executive Team, and under the guise of the Board of Directors.




 


Skills / Experience / Education Requirements:


 


Education:


Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related area.


 


Major or Specialty Area:


Sales experience at an executive level.


 


Experience:


5+ years of related sales skills at a VP or Executive Director level, or 15 years as a top producing sales person in the food services industry. Industry experience and key contacts are required for this position, and experience with key company’s in the industry; such as Sysco, Gordon Foods and US Foodservice or large specialty foods distributors will be a strong plus. Horeca contacts and contacts in large bakeries, grocery chains and others within the hospitality field a plus.



 


Other Required Skills:





    • Leadership and Problem Solving Skills a must



    • Experience in creating and executing a strategic sales plan and building a top level sales team



    • The ability to build great relationships with both employees and customers



    • Be a team player and a self starter, gaining the trust of your sales team



    • The ability to interact well with all levels within the organization


 


Regular travel will be necessary for this position.
