This position is responsible for the company's Retail Software Marketing Activities including advertising and public relations, marketing communications, analyst relationships, market research, and overall product marketing strategy. Position will work closely with sales organization for product positioning and branding along with establishing the overall marketing strategy to attain corporate sales and profitability goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-As part of the company's senior management, candidate will direct a staff of employees in the overall marketing based activities, advertising, and public relations for the business. This position reports directly to the EVP of Sales and Marketing.
-Develop and execute plans for the design, writing, and production of various communications and marketing materials including corporate positioning literature, product/service brochures, case histories, customer press releases, etc.
-Conduct the planning and execution of annual conference held for clients and prospective clients along with several industry trade-shos throughout the year. Maintain and solicit vendor parner sponsorships for such in order to manage the budgets for these events.
-Initiate both creative and strategy sessions with outside agencies to implement advertising campaigns in the print media.
-Define strategic components of product marketing plans, in conjunction with the sales and executive management teams for product direction, positioning in the marketplace, and long-term strategy.
-Review market research to determine opportunities that exist and way to profit from them. Set and suggest various product pricing strategies.
-Adhere to the Company's proprietary information protection policies
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has a team of Marketing and Product Marketing Personnel which is shared with teh sales team as the primary support personnel.
Dollar Accountability:
Responsible for meeting the associated marketing budget and company compliance goals.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Marketing or Business required
Direct Experience:
Minimum of 10 years in marketing with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity managing a group of direct employees.
Qualifications:
Good working knowledge of specific types of retail software systems such as Purchasing, Warehousing, Pricing/Merchandising, POS, and other store based retail systems.
