Description

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will lead value engineering efforts resulting in savings throughout product development activities—from ideation to creation.

Responsibilities

·         Lead cost reduction engineering, value stream mapping, process evaluation, etc., on existing products.  

·         Determine cost savings opportunities through complete financial and functional analysis. 

·         Determine feasibility of cost saving modifications or product redesigns.

·         Assist in the preparation of product cost information for products or projects.

·         Establish priorities, action plans, and timelines for multiple projects.

·         Provide engineering analysis and implementation of design modifications recommended for improved production efficiency or cost efficiency.

·         Determine feasibility of implementing state-of-the-art product technologies.

·         Establish, update, and maintain product specifications, including all meaningful details pertinent to product manufacturability requirements, regulatory considerations, and marketing/sales considerations.

·         Recognize opportunities where engineering techniques such as Lean, Design for Six Sigma, FMEAs, etc., will optimize solutions.

·         Prove updated methods for design, processes, manufacturing, etc., are meet product and regulatory standards through testing and analysis.

·         Prepare drawings and documentation needed to define or update the product specification.

REQUIREMENTS

·         5 years of Mechanical Engineering work experience required.

·         Engineering Leadership experience in cross-functional teams. 

·         Project planning skills, as well as evaluation and critique.

·         3D CAD experience desired (Creo or Pro/Engineer preferred). 

·         Experience with ERP systems desired (SAP preferred).

·         Self-motivated, autonomous, work ethic, able to complete assignments with little to no supervision.

Education

Bachelors’ of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program required.

·         Pursuit or completion of advanced degrees in Business Administration desired.
