This is a 12 month unaccompanied tour in the Middle East (not Iraq or Afghanistan).
 
The Vehicle Systems Acquisition Support Specialist provides direct support for the Vehicle Systems Acquisition Manager in support of a client vehicle acquisition program.
 
The Vehicle Systems Acquisition Support Specialist shall support all aspects of execution of project from its current stage through contract execution.  The Support Specialist assists the Acquisition Manager in monitoring project
progress toward project deadlines and milestones.  Tasks may include or support:
- Document and process control, within the broader system
- Advise the Acquisition Manager on schedule status
- Maintain a Schedule Management Plan
- Cost, schedule, performance, and risk compliance and reporting
- Support of the contract negotiation process
- Monitor / assist program management and contract execution
- Monitor production / delivery schedule
- Assist verification and validation process
- Assist vehicle system fielding; assist client in setting fielding schedule and coordinating all functions associated with it. 

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required in Business, Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 yrs experience in supporting a lead in a vehicle acquisition program
- Minimum 5 years experience in supporting all aspects of execution of project from its current stage through contract execution, monitoring
project progress toward deadlines & milestones
Preferred Skills/Experiences:
- Post-Graduate degree preferred
- Former US Military experience highly preferred
- PMP Certification preferred
- Knowledge of on-going homeland security type projects worldwide
- Knowledge of US DoD 5000 series Major Systems Acquisition or other national processes for the acquisition of capability
