JOB SUMMARY: 


 


The Vice President, Marketing is responsible for creative development and execution of all North American marketing programs and activities as well as overall corporate communication strategies. This role will direct all marketing activities for the Background Screening division's business lines, which include pre-employment screening services, identity management solutions and data breach services resulting in increased sales leads and optimum positioning of the division in the relevant markets.   


 


This position will be located in Nashville, TN and will report to the President, Background Screening.


 


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  


 


·    Build and lead North American marketing and corporate communications efforts including communications/sales materials, cross-selling and marketing initiatives, seminars, user conferences, trade shows, special promotions, direct mail campaigns, advertising, public relations, branding initiatives, etc. to establish clear market understanding of the division's position, offerings and brand.


·    Oversee the creation, maintenance and management of the client database and reporting/trending of marketing activities.


·    Participate in cross-functional collaboration with relevant Kroll Inc. and MMC business lines.


·    Collaborate with product line management to establish market segmentation strategies, promotional plans and product positioning strategies to create consistent and relevant market messages that support the growth and revenue plans of the product lines. 


·    Coordinate with the sales, business development and client care groups to deliver product training, marketing promotions, client relationship management programs and relevant communication/positioning messages to the market, our clients and our employees.  This will provide consistent and timely messaging that extends through the entire customer relationship lifecycle, increase client retention rates and drive sales of existing and new products.


·    Set standards, priorities, and schedules for the marketing/communications team.


·    Mentor and develop department personnel to ensure execution of marketing activities to grow the overall business 


·    Ensure a productive culture within the marketing organization to drive the highest levels of achievement possible. 


·    Demonstrate a sense of urgency in completing marketing activities on behalf of the business lines and manage any resource conflicts or prioritization issues as needed.


·    Oversee the marketing budget; tracking budgeted amounts against actual expenses and measuring return against effort/financial expenditure to ensure that the business lines execute effective marketing and communications while maintaining strict budget management and return on investment.


·    Ensure compliance with branding style guides and other established standards within Kroll Inc. and MMC.


·    Issue regular status reports and periodic updates to the executive team and business line management to keep them informed of departmental progress and emerging developments.


·    Supervise any outsourced marketing activities and build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, facilities, exhibitors, and sponsors to ensure that activities completed by outsourced resources on behalf of the organization are delivered in a professional and high-quality nature and that the organization is receiving the highest amount of value for its expenditures.


CANDIDATE EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:


 


·         Post-secondary degree in related field or equivalent work experience


·         Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in a combination of the following: marketing communications, public relations, event planning, advertising, direct mail, Website content management, graphics, trending and/or database management and budget management


·         Minimum 5 years of demonstrated large team management experience with success and ability to motivate people to execute on marketing activities


·         Experience developing and implementing channel marketing programs for varied product lines


·         Business-to-business marketing experience - preferably in the technology or service industry


·         Experience with applicable Web-based technologies 


·         Knowledge of the Internet and software industries, previous experience in a high tech company preferred


·         Knowledge of media deliverables available within creative realm


·         Demonstrated success collaborating with sales team and product management functions


·         Proven ability to make critical decisions at an expert level


·         Must be proficient in MS office products, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project Management.  Proficiency in Visio and MS Access a plus


·         Demonstrated understanding and experience with Salesforce.com is preferred


·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (listening, verbal, written presentation)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 


 


·         Sitting for long periods of time in close proximity to a computer screen.


·         Work may be performed at off-site locations, both indoors and outdoors


·         Lifting may be required up to approximately 30 pounds.


 


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:


 


 Some business travel is required approximately 10 to 15%.


 


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


 


·         Climate-controlled office building located on a campus and composed of offices, cubicles, conference rooms and computer data center.


·         Individual must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
