Central Maine Healthcare (CMHC) is seeking a Vice President for Finance. This position reports directly to the CFO and Treasurer of Central Maine Healthcare and is responsible for the management of all Accounting and Finance activities within the system. The person appointed to this position will be a key member of the leadership team and will work collaboratively with all of its members. Our system CFO is scheduled to retire in approximately two years and the successful candidate will have an opportunity to apply for that position.
The Vice President for Finance will provide consultation and guidance to hospital Presidents and their executive teams, and the System CFO on all matters related to financial management practices in the facilities. He/she will oversee the monitoring and reporting of the financial performance of the organization as well as the decision support systems to ensure that the leadership team has access to the necessary financial and clinical information to manage their areas of responsibility. Responsibilities will also include establishing goals to support and achieve system objectives as well as maintaining a cost effective and productive financial system infrastructure
This position requires an undergraduate degree in finance or accounting as well as a CPA and/or a graduate degree in business, finance, accounting or a related area. A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in the financial management of a complex hospital environment is required. Experience as a CFO of a smaller hospital or number two position in a similarly sized operation such as a multi-hospital system, or large complex hospital is essential. Responsibilities must have included finance, accounting and revenue cycle management.
