Vice President of Human Resources

 Akima seeks a dynamic, multifaceted Vice President of Human Resources to support an organization that is in a major growth mode. This senior management position is responsible for all HR policies, programs, and procedures. The ideal candidate must be able to develop, implement, and oversee a full range of HR operations, including HRIS, benefits, compensation, employee relations, collective bargaining, training, and HR administration. Our HR professionals are based in multiple locations across the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii; therefore the ideal candidate will be able to manage HR functions in multiple remote locations. We seek an individual with the ability to develop and implement an HR vision and who can meet and often exceed expectations. The candidate selected will have superior leadership skills combined with demonstrated knowledge of government regulations and be able to provide guidance that ensures the company maintains compliance with all levels of federal and state requirements.

For consideration, a Masters Degree in HR or a related field is preferred along with PHR or SPHR Certification. A high-energy visionary with a solid generalist background, well-developed communications skills and 10+ years’ experience gained through executive management HR positions in government contracting will thrive in our participative people-oriented environment. Some international exposure helpful. Travel up to 25% per year may be necessary.
