Vice President of Sales - Transportation Services

TransForce, Inc. a national leader in the provision of outsourced transportation staffing solutions with 32 offices nationwide is seeking a Vice President of Sales based out of our headquarters location in Springfield, VA. This position will be responsible for developing new sales on a local, regional, and national basis through the effective implementation of the following job functions:

 

  • Administration of the lead generation, evaluation, dissemination and follow-up process.
  • Manage, train, and evaluate the sales activities of field based sales resources to include Account Executives and selling General Managers.
  • Lead or assist in the development of all major RFP responses associated with new prospect opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Vice President of Operations and the Vice President of Business Development to develop an effective sales pipeline tracking and management process.
  • Develop and maintain an effective competitive mapping profile for all major competitors across all major market centers nationwide.

 

This position will report directly to the COO and be involved in all strategic company growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications at a minimum:

 

  • A Bachelors Degree or higher.
  • Ten or more years of sales experience with five or more of those years being in sales management.
  • Several years of experience selling outsourced staffing solutions across a broad geography, ideally in transportation related services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and above average presentation skills.
  • A clear understanding of P&L metrics and the ability to conduct pro forma profitability analysis related to new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A genuine passion for driving double digit growth combined with a willingness to dwell in the details when needed and execute visionary strategic thinking and planning throughout the sales planning and implementation process.
