Bestica’s client in NYC is looking for an experienced Visual UI Designer. We are looking for an individual who can participate in both granular design work and add to the strategic visual design direction for our client’s products.

The candidate should have an exceptional track record in creating exciting, innovative visuals for software applications (desktop, mobile, installation or other devices) and web based products. The Designer will collaborate closely with interaction designers, prototypers, business analysts, and engineers. The individual in this role will be responsible for concocting out-of-the-box solutions and tough design problems in the financial arena that involve large amounts of data and complicated workflows. An ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, understand constraints quickly, and be able to produce and communicate creative design for colleagues and clients.

In addition to visual design principles, the candidate should be familiar with UCD methodologies and design cycles. Professional experience or a degree in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Information Design, Architecture, Industrial/Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or related field is strongly preferred.

Qualifications:

·         5+ years of experience in designing desktop and mobile applications, or rich web-based applications.

·         B.S./M.S. in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Information Design, Architecture, Industrial / Product Design, Interaction Design, Interactive or Multimedia Design, or related field.

·         Clear/Demonstrated understanding of visual design and UCD principles via a portfolio.

·         Strong experience with design tools such as Photoshop / Illustrator and other Adobe product suite.

·         Knowledge with Visio/OmniGraffle, Flash/Flex, Blend/WPF, HTML/CSS/JavaScript
