  Voice Communications Analyst

Job Description:

Our client has an immediate need for a Voice Communications Analyst in the Des Moines area. This position will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and support of the voice systems and related services for their worldwide locations.

Essential Functions:


  • Install, maintain and support voice systems. Evaluate and install patches, and resolve system or software related problems. Perform system backups and recovery. Maintain data files. Audit system configuration to ensure data integrity and security.

  • Provide technical insight and support for the evaluation, selection, and implementation of all voice systems hardware and software to ensure the integrity of the system, the adherence to industry and company standards, and the consistent application of technology.

  • Manage telecom vendor relationships.

  • Keep proper documentation.

  • Acts as an escalation resource for company service desk personnel.

  • Prepare activity and status reports for active projects as required.

  • Provide on-call support as needed.



Additional Responsibilities:

  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned which may include some lifting up to 50 lbs. and limited travel.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • 2 years hands on experience administering a medium to large MS Windows based environment.



Demonstrable expertise within many of the following technologies:
O/S: Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008, Linux
Voice Systems: Nortel CS1000E (in High Availability mode), Nortel SRG, Nortel OTM, Symposium Express, Call Parrot, Mitel, Polycom
Applications: Microsoft Exchange UM, Microsoft OCS
Voice Technologies: VOIP, SIP, T.38 (Fax), TDM, CTI, 3rd party call control
Other Technologies: Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, SharePoint

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong network experience a plus

2 years hands on experience administering a medium to large MS Windows based environment.
