Position Purpose:
Provides day-to-day telecommunications management and first tier support, including but not limited to the setup, monitoring, tracking, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of all cellular, voice and pager related telecommunications systems, equipment and services. Provides day-to-day data network management and first tier support, including but not limited to the setup, monitoring, tracking, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of all networking infrastructure.
Duties & Responsibilities
q Telecom
§ Orders, programs, and maintains all Company telephones, cell phones, PDA’s and pagers.
§ Supports, installs, maintains and documents company telecommunications infrastructure.
§ Dispatches 3rd party telecommunication provider(s) to assist with the system programming for field offices.
§ Investigates, documents and attempts to correct each telecommunications outage. Sends outage notifications via email to the relevant company employees.
§ Documents all telecommunications information related to equipment, system configurations and maintenance and contract issues.
§ Reviews all telecommunications agreements, invoices and expenses.
q Data Networking
§ Responsible for support, installation, maintenance, and repair of all networking platform devices and related applications for the Company.
§ Manage, monitor, and maintain remote network office connections.
§ Monitor F5 Big IP device. Perform administrator functions as necessary.
§ Manage and maintain ACS interface to Active Directory and Cisco ASA firewall device.
§ Manage and maintain Cisco 4500 series core switch, POE switches, 3700 / 2800 / 1700 series routers.
§ Work with System Administrators to configure servers as required.
§ Manage the IP addresses of the Company.
§ Support the Company’s technical operations by developing policies and procedures related to server, network device, and application installations, upgrades, and security.
q General Department Duties
§ Use the Company’s ticketing system to track all support calls and projects.
§ Participate in project teams to research, design, budget for, purchase, and implement new or replacement servers, network, and telecom devices.
§ Promote communication between the Information Technology department and the Snelling Support Center, the branch offices, and the franchise offices.
§ Seeks out opportunities to reduce waste and recommends action for improvement
§ Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Experience:
q Telecom
§ 2+ Year’s installation and programming of Nortel, Meridian PBX Option 11
§ 2+ year’s installation and programming Cisco VOIP solutions.
§ Working knowledge of voicemail equipment and services, message-on-hold equipment and overhead speaker systems.
§ Working knowledge of voice/PBX feature applications.
§ 3+ years customer service experience related to telecommunications.
§ Telecommunications industry certifications or equivalent job related experience.
q Data Networking
§ 3+ years installing and maintaining Cisco IOS including routers, switches, and firewall devices.
§ 3+ years networking experience including TCP-IP, routers, switches, and data connection technologies.
§ Working knowledge of copper wire plant distribution practices and standards.
§ Cisco CCNA certifications or equivalent job related experience.
q General
§ High School Diploma required.
§ Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
§ Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, multi-task, and possess strong organizational skills.
§ Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills necessary.
§ Maturity, judgment and consultative ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization and 3rd party vendors.
