Web Content Designer

Arrow Electronics, Inc.

Position Summary:

Develop web pages and templates to support various web initiatives including basic improvements, site enhancements, and new websites or web-based applications.




Primary Roles and Responsibilities

1. Create standards compliant XHTML/CSS for websites and web-based applications

2. Rapidly prototype web pages based on wireframes

3. Collaborate with Project Managers, IT, and other business leaders on web projects

4. Perform maintenance and updates or websites and web-based applications





Education/Experience/Skills:

General Education

College degree or high school with technical training and equivalent experience





Experience

0-2 years with college degree; 3+ years with high school diploma





Skills

· Clean, comprehensive coding in XHTML for structure and CSS for presentation

· Expert knowledge of web standards and cross-browser compatibility

· Experience with web page optimization techniques (both in file weight and perceived/actual rendering speed)

· Self-motivation and accountability for your work

· Problem solver in both feasibility and production

· The ability to work with a small team on multiple concurring projects

· Experience with content management systems

· Experience with image optimization for the web

· Verbal and written communication skills

· Organizational skills

· Interpersonal/inter-organizational savvy required to understand and integrate business needs across functions and resources
